TREATMENTS

Mini IVF

Mini IVF, also known as mild or soft IVF, is a fertility treatment protocol that uses lower doses of hormonal medication compared to conventional IVF. This gentle approach helps reduce the side effects associated with ovarian stimulation while still supporting successful egg retrieval and fertilization.

Step-by-Step Treatment Process

1.

FERTILITY CHECK-UP

When you schedule your check-up, your doctor will begin with your medical history, perform a transvaginal ultrasound, and order any additional tests to determine the best time to start your treatment—all within our facilities.

2.

OVARIAN STIMULATION

Your process begins on the second or third day of your menstrual cycle. The key difference in Mini IVF lies in the ovarian stimulation phase, which is gentler and aims to produce fewer but higher-quality eggs for fertilization. Follow-up visits are scheduled every 4 to 5 days to monitor progress.

3.

EGG RETRIEVAL (OVARIAN PUNCTURE)

Egg retrieval is performed in our clinic’s operating room during a 15–25 minute procedure. During this time, the follicles are aspirated to collect mature eggs. Recovery typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.

4.

IVF IN THE LABORATORY

In the laboratory, our embryologists carry out the process in several stages over 6 to 7 days:

  • Day 0: Fertilization occurs on the same day the sperm sample is collected.
  • Days 1–3: Reports are issued on embryo development.
  • Day 5: Final development report—your doctor will inform you which embryos matured properly and are ready for transfer.

All procedures are performed under the supervision of our specialized embryology team.

5.

ENDOMETRIAL PREPARATION

Like ovarian stimulation, this phase begins on the second or third day of the menstrual cycle. Follow-up visits are scheduled every 7 days to monitor endometrial thickness and ensure the uterus is ready to receive the embryo.

6.

EMBRYO TRANSFER

Once the endometrium and embryo are ready, the transfer is typically performed between days 20 and 22 of the cycle. After your final follow-up consultation, the doctor will determine the best date for the procedure. At this stage, you and your doctor may decide whether to transfer one or two embryos—always prioritizing your health and safety to avoid high-risk pregnancies. Our focus is your well-being and ensuring a positive, supportive experience.

What Does It Include and How Much Does It Cost?

INCLUDES:

  • Follow-up consultations during ovarian stimulation and endometrial preparation.
  • Egg retrieval (ovarian puncture).
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure.
  • Embryo vitrification (freezing).
  • First embryo thaw (devitrification) for transfer.
  • Embryo transfer.

NOT INCLUDED:

  • Medications and laboratory tests.
  • Consultations outside of the ovarian stimulation and endometrial preparation phases.

PGT-A Genetic Testing

PGT-A is a genetic test that helps ensure a healthy baby by analyzing the embryo’s chromosomes. It can also determine the baby’s sex if desired.

How Long Does the Treatment Take?

The time needed to begin and complete the Mini IVF process ranges between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on your menstrual cycle and individual progress.

Who Is Mini IVF Recommended For?

THIS COULD BE YOUR ALTERNATIVE

Although Mini IVF offers many benefits, it is not suitable for all patients. It is best for women with good ovarian reserve and a favorable prognosis, as this protocol reduces the risk of overstimulation.

  • Women with a history of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) or at high risk of developing it.
  • Women under 35 years old with a short history of infertility.
  • Patients with functional fallopian tube issues but normal ovarian function.
  • Couples with mild to moderate male factor infertility.
  • Single women or same-sex female couples without gynecological conditions.
  • Patients who, for ethical or religious reasons, prefer not to have surplus embryos.
  • Patients seeking a more natural process with fewer injections.
